Anguilla capital gains tax: no tax on shares, crypto or land gains
Anguilla has no personal capital gains tax, so the tax on your investment gain is zero. Shares, funds, crypto and property alike, a private disposal carries no tax on the gain, whatever the holding period. Anguilla also has no personal income tax. The charges that touch a land sale, stamp duty on the transfer and property tax on ownership, are set on the value of the property, never on the gain.

Questions
Anguilla capital gains tax questions
Does Anguilla have a capital gains tax?
No. The Ministry of Finance lists the domestic taxes in force, the Interim Stabilisation Levy, Accommodation Tax, Communication Levy, Environmental Levy, Property Tax, Stamp Duty and licences, and none of them taxes a gain. It states that personal and business income taxes do not exist in Anguilla. Whether you sell shares after a week or land after twenty years, the gain itself is not taxed.
So what does selling cost?
Stamp duty, and it is charged on the value, not the gain. A land transfer carries stamp duty of 5% of the freehold value under the Stamp Act, and a non-Belonger buyer pays a further Aliens Land Holding Licence duty. Both are owed whether the sale makes a gain or a loss.
Is crypto taxed in Anguilla?
Not as a capital gain. Anguilla has no capital gains tax and no income tax, and crypto is a capital asset like any other for a private sale.
Does the General Services Tax apply to selling investments?
No. The General Services Tax taxes supplies of services by registered businesses at 13%. A private sale of shares, crypto or land is not a supply by a business, so it carries no GST.
What does the Ministry of Finance list?
Anguilla has no capital gains tax on personal disposals. The Ministry of Finance's revenue paper lists the domestic taxes in force (Interim Stabilisation Levy, Accommodation Tax, Communication Levy, Environmental Levy, Property Tax, Interim Goods Tax, Stamp Duty and licences) and states that personal and business income taxes do not exist in Anguilla. Inland Revenue administers only consumption taxes, levies, licences and property charges. What stamp duty do you pay on a land transfer?
A land transfer carries stamp duty under the Stamp Act of 5% of the freehold value. A non-Belonger buyer also needs an Aliens Land Holding Licence, which carries its own stamp duty (12.5% of freehold value in the Lands and Surveys guidance, and 5% in the Executive Council approvals of September 2024), and a refundable deposit of 10% on undeveloped land. These charge the value of the transfer, never the gain. What is the property tax?
Property tax is calculated at 0.075% of the property's value, assessed by the Department of Lands and Surveys and paid to Inland Revenue. It is a holding charge, not a tax on a sale. Source: https://www.gov.ai/service/property-tax
What is the levy on pay?
The 3% levy on labour income, the Interim Stabilisation Levy in the Ministry of Finance's paper (3% each for employee and employer, 6% for the self-employed, on pay above EC$2,000 a month), is listed by Inland Revenue as the Universal Social Levy. It taxes pay, not investment gains. Source: https://gov.ai/document/GST%20White%20Paper%20for%20Anguilla-Revised_v2_09.03.2021%20(002).pdf and https://ird.gov.ai/
